Board Spotlight
Monique Brown
Regional Director of San Francisco Bay Area at Center for Employment Opportunities
About Monique:
Monique joined ICJA to share her own experiences serving in the justice and workforce development space. She also saw ICJA as a great space to learn from her Justice Community peers who are supporting and impacting communities around the world.
Monique began her career in workforce and community development at the age of 19 years old. As a community organizer, Monique helped create pathways to career placement for residents in her community, which also relates to ICJA’s new mission of building stronger communities for justice-involved individuals.
“I am excited to work side by side with other ICJA board members to advance the ICJA vision of changing the public perception of individuals who are justice-involved, ending the overuse of incarceration and correctional supervision, and achieving a just society.”
Monique strongly believes in Robert Ingersoll’s quote, "We rise by lifting others!” and hopes that we can “lift others” through ICJA.
